Meaningful Feedback

Our firstborn preemie would nod off to sleep almost instantly at my breast, never getting enough to fill her up. We were up every hour with less than satisfactory feedings…until Penny walked us through her recommendations to achieve a calm, nourishing experience. When I look back on those first few weeks, I realize that without Penny’s guidance I might have given up on breastfeeding. Thank you, Penny.

I was feeling helpless when it came time to return to work. My three-month maternity leave felt too short. I couldn’t get my mind around pumping at the office, worrying that I wouldn’t be able to provide enough for my newborn. Penny helped me build a plan that got me past my hesitation and intimidation. My son is surpassing all weight goals, and I treasure the bonding experience!

Making It Work
I was fortunate to have Penny as my post-partum nurse, following the birth of my second son. Penny was attentive, thorough, and knowledgeable. She took the time to answer my (many) questions around my personal health, as well as the health and feeding journey of my son. Her expertise was not only evident in her answers but also in the calm and reassuring manner in which she delivered them, making me feel at ease during a time that can often be overwhelming. Thank you Penny!

Penny helped me when I had my first child. He had a hard time latching, and I had circulation issues that made breastfeeding painful. She approached us with compassion, understanding, and tons of knowledge and tips on how to make our situation work. She never pushed breastfeeding on us either, if we chose to supplement with formula or pivot plans. She truly cares about the breastfeeding journey that's so unique to each child.

Penny came to my house after the birth of my second child. My breast feeding journey started when my first baby was born in the height of Covid, my milk didn’t come in until late in day 3 and that was terrifying! For round two, I was determined to have a good milk supply and early, I pumped in the hospital and fed my child creating a huge oversupply giving my newborn gas and lots of discomfort. Penny came in very calm and had SO many tips on how to lower the brunt of my oversupply to relieve my baby. She talked through all things motherhood also which is so nice to have in those early stages. I was able to take the tricks penny suggested (pumping before hand, hand expressing, warm showers) and fold them into my breast feeding journey which gave my little girl some relief! She also talked through lots of different holds as my second was much smaller then my first so what I knew to do wasn’t always working for a good latch/feed. It was so wonderful to have someone in my corner. She is amazing 🩷
